Swindon Town Supporters Club

July 2017 – Newsletter

Dear Members
Here we are again at the beginning of another season. I hope you have all had a good summer and come back rested and looking forward to what we hope will be a bright future.
We welcome David Flitcroft as our new manager and his assistant Ben Futcher. We also welcome the new players they have brought to our club.
Not such good news is that Roger Bunce is no longer on our Committee. He has resigned because of his health. I am sure we will still see Roger around on a match day as I cannot see him giving up his beloved Swindon Town which has been running through his veins for so many years. We wish him well and look forward to seeing him when he can make it to a match.
We are now two members short on the Committee, so if you would like to join us please come along to a meeting and see what happens. We promise not to ask you to do anything you are not comfortable with, we are just normal fans who try to help supporters and the club. We meet on the first Saturday home game each month at 11am in Legends Lounge.
We will be continuing our two main fundraisers this season, the Pounds 4 Points and the Halftime draw. I have taken over as the Promoter of the Halftime Draw but Steve Dean has taken charge of operations. I look after Pounds 4 Points. If you would like to sign up for either of these please fill in the enclosed forms and return to the Supporters Club.
If you can spare some time before a match and would like to help sell our 50/50 tickets, then please contact us. It would involve selling tickets from around an hour and half before kick-off. Even if you can only help once a month, or only on weekend games, do please let us know.
Finally, two dates for your diary – Saturday 21 October is the Supporters Club AGM starting at 11am in Legends Lounge and a Race Night on Thursday 5 October also being held in the Legends Lounge. We look forward to seeing you there.

SAS Travel
We would like to remind you that SAS Travel no longer have a landline number. They can now only be contacted on 07535 917872. If there is no answer, then please leave a message and you will be called back as soon as it is possible. Email address is sastravel@sky.com.
The Travel Office is open on Tuesday and Thursday evenings between 7.00pm and 8.00pm and before all home games, closing half an hour before kick off. Bookings for each game usually opens about three weeks before the fixture date and there are normally three fixtures open for bookings at any one time. As there is a deadline for ordering coaches from the coach provider, we always advise you to book early to avoid disappointment.
Details of pricing and departure times, etc, can be found on our website or follow them on twitter.

Members Draw
We have decided to continue with our free members draw for next season. This will start in August and the first prize will be a programme for every home game during the season (worth about £75). The prize for the second draw will be two seats to an away game, kindly donated by SAS Travel. The winners of the remaining draws will receive £25 of vouchers for the Club shop.
